Lymphatic Massage Therapy
Lymphatic massage use MLD to relieve swelling by coaxing lymph fluid from your tissues to your functioning lymph nodes. Unlike traditional massage, lymphatic drainage massage uses light pressure to mobilize the lymphatic system, which lies directly beneath the skin.
Generally speaking, lymphatic drainage massage is a safe treatment to relieve lymphedema. There are some conditions and circumstances where lymphatic drainage massage isn't recommended: You have a heart condition. You have kidney failure.
Fatigue is by far the most common side effect and clients tend to feel the most "drained" after their very first MLD appointment. We're unclogging the pipes so-to-speak, but don't worry! The intensity of symptoms normally decreases over time with each session as your lymphatic flow improves.
